In addition, thanks to the Humboldt Current, this area offers a steady supply of fish throughout the year, where you can find species such as marlin, sailfish, dorado, wahoo, barracuda, snapper, yellowfin tuna, schools of sardines, grouper, and a wide variety of fish native to the fossil reef.
It is also common to spot pods of dolphins throughout the year, making every trip an unforgettable experience.
And if you want to experience something truly magical, we invite you to discover whale season in Nuquí, a natural spectacle where majestic humpback whales visit our waters to mate and give birth. It’s a unique experience that connects you with the grandeur of the ocean and the natural richness of the Colombian Pacific.

- Tickets: Flight from Medellín to Nuquí and back to Medellín from Olaya Herrera Airport.

When it comes to having fun in Nuquí, you’ll find several options that can be arranged through the hotel; the cost may vary depending on the number of people.
- Please arrive at the airport at least one hour before your flight, with your original identification documents.
- To travel, both adults and children must present their original identification documents.
- The baggage allowance is 10 kilograms for checked luggage and 5 kilograms for carry-on luggage, depending on the type of aircraft used.
- If you arrive at José María Córdova International Airport in Rionegro to catch your connecting flight to Nuquí, please note that the transfer to Olaya Herrera Airport takes 50 minutes by taxi and costs approximately $90,000.
- When you arrive in Nuquí, put on shorts and sandals, as we’ll be taking a boat to the hotel and disembarking on the beach.
- We recommend wearing comfortable, quick-drying clothing, closed-toe shoes, a flashlight with rechargeable batteries, a raincoat, and sunscreen. Bring any prescription medications you need.
- If you have any type of waste, such as plastic or glass containers, grocery bags, etc., we kindly ask that you take them back to where you came from to help protect the ecosystem and prevent beach pollution.
- We do not accept electronic payments in Nuquí, so we recommend bringing cash in small denominations.
- The only cell phone service available is provided by the carrier Claro.
