WE ARE SIEMPRE COLOMBIA

An environmentally, culturally and socially responsible organisation.

Siempre Colombia is a travel and tourism organisation. For two decades we have focused our efforts and aims on raising awareness, admiration and respect for nature, culture and the idiosyncrasies of our country, as well as promoting the development of community-based tourism ventures.

What are we doing for the culture and nature of our country?

For two decades we have focused our efforts, dreams and intentions on generating awareness, admiration and respect for the nature, culture and idiosyncrasies of the regions visited, as well as promoting the development of local tourism enterprises in the communities of Mocagua and San Martin in the Colombian Amazon and we are initiating approaches with some Wayúu ranches in the Guajira and the native communities of the Pacific.

Working with local communities.

We support collaborative work programmes with two indigenous communities in Colombia: the Tikunas from the southern Amazon and the Wayúu from the department of La Guajira.
Through awareness-raising programmes for travellers, we promote the appreciation, admiration and respect of travellers for the communities visited, as well as the rootedness and appropriation of their culture by the local hosts.

We support local enterprises such as: ancestral handicraft workshops, traditional gastronomy, ancestral ceremonies and rituals, environmental orientation and interpretation, accommodation in native hosts’ houses, community restaurants, among others.

How do we do this?

Through the design, marketing and operation of solidarity tourism, nature, culture and education programmes for national and international visitors, whose main motivation is to live an authentic and spontaneous experience of interaction with the visited community, where they can contribute from their areas of knowledge, while sharing daily life with local people.

All our programmes are designed and operated on three basic principles:

  1. Training of environmental multipliers.
  2. Promoting a greater and better distribution of benefits.
  3. “Leave No Trace” environmental responsibility programme.

A world to be transformed programme.

It is an initiative of us as Siempre Colombia and our friends, suppliers and customers, where we seek to directly support local communities with volunteer programmes in local communities, where volunteers apart from living a great life experience, will support and accompany children, young people, women heads of households and grandparents of communities, working in different areas such as health, education, recreation, appropriation of their culture and projection of community enterprises.

Environmental and Cultural Responsibility Fund.

With the social and environmental responsibility programme, we seek in the medium term to support high-impact projects in the communities visited, which is why the initiative arose to create an Environmental and Cultural Responsibility Fund. The economic resources will come from a solidarity bonus, which for the year 2021 will be 5% and from the year 2022 will be 10% of the total amount paid by travellers. The funds will be co-managed by the operating agency and the local community, and will be destined solely and exclusively to support projects with a high cultural and environmental impact.

“The big opportunities to help others rarely come, but the small ones are all around us every day.”
